Wi-Fi not working off campus on Douglas College laptop

Problem

If you are connected to Wi-Fi while off campus but do not have internet access, the Cira DNS Firewall may be preventing your connection from working properly. You may also see the following message in Network & Internet settings: “The DNS settings for all Wi-Fi networks have been set. The settings below won't be used.”

Solution

Expand the tray icon on the bottom right by clicking the up arrow (your arrow should be pointing up until the tray is expanded) then double click the icon for the Cira DNS Firewall (check screenshot below).

In the new Cira DNS Firewall Window, click on the green shield to turn off the app.

After the app has been turned off. Check to see if the internet works now.

More information
