This article describes how to connect to Wi-Fi on macOS.
Step-by-Step guide
Note: Apple may change these images as operating systems are updated.
- Click the wireless icon on the Apple taskbar, find the eduroam network and select it.
- Enter your Douglas College email address and College Network Access password, then click OK.
Warning: If there is an “Identity” field, make sure to choose an Identity. Do NOT leave it blank, otherwise your Mac device may not be able to connect to the network.
If all goes well, you should be connected. Some Apple devices show a pop-up suggesting users move closer to the Wi-Fi access point. More than likely, the pop-up is simply displaying generic advice and is triggered by users exceeding a time limit to enter their password. We are unaware of any way to keep the credentials window open for a longer time. We hope Apple will address the issue in a future update.
The libraries have fairly uniform Wi-Fi coverage but it may be helpful to note a few locations:
New Westminster Campus Library: There is a Wi-Fi access point near the stairs leading to second floor, another just outside the entrance to the Learning Centre, and another at the centre of the Learning Centre.
Coquitlam Campus Library: There is a Wi-Fi access point in the ceiling above the Learning Centre, and another one in the centre of the computer lab.
