How to check Windows 10 version

Windows 10 operating systems have different versions released at different points during their supported lifetime. To determine whether your computer needs an upgrade to a newer version of Windows 10, you will first need to identify your computer's current version.

To check your computer's version of Windows 10, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Click on the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner to access the menu, and click on the gear icon (Settings) positioned above the power icon.

  2. The Windows Settings window will pop up. Click on System​​​​​​.

  3. Select the About tab from the left pane of the window. It is the last tab in the left pane.

  4. The About section will appear in the right pane. Under Windows specifications, see the Version. In this example, the version is 21H2.
